Banksia and Coprolite Pendant

One of a kind pendant, made of a slice of Banksia pod from Australia and a Coprolite cabochon. Both are set in Sterling silver 925. The silver backing is textured. It is cut to enable the wearer to see beautiful natural pattern of the Banksia.
Coprolite is a rare stone as it is fossilized Dinosaur feces, obviously none being created anymore!Β Even though we have many dinosaur discoveries in Canada, this particular specimen comes for Utah and was cut in Canada.
Banksia pods are found in South Western Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. With heat or fire, the pod bursts open releasing its seeds. Harvesting of the empty pods ensures sustainability. I have not seen many pieces of jewellery made with Banksia, it is however used by woodturners to create the most wonderful pieces.
