Banksia and Noreena Jasper Pendant

A slice of Banksia pod from Australia and a Noreena jasper drop bead make-up this eye catching pendant. Both are set in sterling silver 925. Attention to detail shows in the pendant's other side. Banksia pods are found in South Western Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. With heat or fire, the pod bursts open releasing its seeds. Harvesting of the empty pods ensures sustainability. I have not seen many pieces of jewellery made with Banksia, it is however used by woodturners to create the most wonderful pieces.
